Kassie's "Mall Scavenger Hunt Birthday Party"

As it happens every year, Kassie starts planning her birthday party for the following year, on the day after her birthday party. Last year was no different, except for the fact that I was in the middle of opening up a store. I unfortunalely had no patience to listen to her talk about themes for something that was a year away. And she did as my sweet little girl does, she stopped talking about it. So what happened? I almost forgot : ( With that said, we had to scramble to come up with a theme and invitations. As many of you know, I love to hand make invitations for every occasion. I did make some, but I was not happy with them at all. Kassie decided she wanted to have a scavenger hunt at Chandler Fashion Center. It actually was a lot of fun. We broke the kids up into 3 teams. Black, Pink and Orange teams. Each team had a different list to work off of and money to spend. They had a blast. We ended the party with dinner and cake at California Pizza Kitchen. Kassie had a few girls spend the night, mostly all the girls that had dance rehearsals the next morning. All in all, it was a great party, even without the 12 month planning : ) The one good thing that came from this is that Kassie has not mentioned her party for next year. She might have started to think like me, save everything untill the LAST MINUTE...oh no!

I'm trying to plan a scavenger hunt at Chandler Mall and would LOVE the details if you're willing to share!

It's a lot harder to think of challenges than I thought it would be!

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

Good things come to those who wait...

I was having one of those bad Mondays. One of those Mondays when everything seems to be going wrong. 1. Our phones at the office are not working. 2. Statements went out over the weekend and angry patients are calling to complain. 3. My coffee got cold and I had to throw it away, and now I have a caffeine headache. 4. My cell phone has been tied up all day because I'm having our calls forwarded to it. (good thing for rollover minutes). 5. My boss has just added two more things to my darker pink "TODO" notebook. And just as I was about to roll up in a ball and hide under my desk, I got this e-mail. Dear Kindle Customer, Today, we introduced Kindle 2, the next generation of our wireless reading device. Because you already ordered the original Kindle and are awaiting its arrival, we're pleased to inform you that we are upgrading your order so that you will receive the new Kindle 2. You will be in the first group to receive Kindle 2, and you will receive yours as soon as K...

Flashback Friday

This Friday, I am participating in two links. My first is with Alicia over at More Than Words . There are only two weeks to go for TDA's Summer Recital. This year it will be held at Higley Performing Arts on June 20 at 7:00. Kassie will be in aproximately 14 dances so far. Might change though. Hopefully it will change to less. : ) Recital is in full swing right now. Every day, you see kids walking out with their costumes. It is so cute. I especially love seeing the little two and three year olds. They are always so excited. This is a picture of Kai in her 2nd Recital with TDA. It was her first year taking more than two classes. I think she was in five or six recital numbers. It was her first official ballet dance. She had never taken a full ballet class. She since has learned to love it. This picture was taken in 2005 making her only nine years old. How fast time goes..... June 2005
