Flashback Friday

This week, I'm going to link to my friend Alicia's Friday Photo Flashback. Alicia started this a few months ago, and I borrowed her idea. She now has a button for it, and a Mr. Linky too. Click on her button to view her Friday Photo Flashback, and by all means, join in the fun too! The fun is to post old photos pre -digital days. Photos that you have to scan. It's nice to reminisce about these pictures. This picture was taken in April of 2002. My sister in law and I loaded up her van and drove to California all by ourselves with my two kids, her two boys, and our nanny, Alma. The boys stayed home to work. It was so much fun. We stayed for four days, and we did whatever we wanted to do. We even drove down to Newport beach one day. Kai was five and Nachito was two. I miss seeing them so little. This was Nachito's first time in Disneyland, and he wasn't afraid of the characters at all. He absolutely loved it. Winnie the Pooh was his favorite back then. Kai also lo

OMG

Here are newly released photos of the filming in Italy. It's looking like they are close to being done with the filming. Yay....and have I mentioned that New Moon comes out on my birthday? No? Didn't think so. : ) Edward about to walk out into the sun.....and then.... Bella saves him!!! This waiting is killing me. And pictures are only making it worse. Guess I'll have to re-read this part again tonight.

Product #9

Ok , Ok , it's been forever since I post a favorite product. Since April to be exact. My last product post can be found here . Two weeks ago, I went to my monthly shopping trip to the MAC store at Scottsdale Fashion Square. I usually just look at color, and more color. This time however, this product was highlighted on a new color story. I asked about it, and was told that it is a spray on moisturizer . I sprayed it in the air, and it had a rose scent to it. I quickly stated that a rose scented product would not fly with me. (Not that I have anything against roses, I love the actual flower, especially when they arrive in at least a dozen in a nice vase, that sits on my desk for the world to see, in a deep peach/coral color to be exact. Wink, wink.) I just don't like the smell of roses on my skin or on my face. I was quickly advised that this product also comes without the rose smell. Now this, I liked. I tried it, I loved it, I bought it!! And so should you. Yo

It's Tuesday, but boy it feels like Monday

Even though, I had Monday off, and my usual two day weekend was a three day weekend, it went by all too fast. So, what I am thinking, is that I need a cupcake. A Sprinkles cupcake to be exact. I need to drive to Sprinkles and buy me some Key Lime cupcakes. Like this one. They are available for a short time only. Then, my day will feel more like a Tuesday. : ) ************************************************************************************* This weekend was a blast for many reasons. First of all, we had a Douglas High School Alumni reunion in Scottsdale. Why did we have a Douglas reunion in Scottsdale? Well, because so many of us live here. Let's go back a few months. Facebook is the best networking site. After re-connecting with a lot of people on there, a few of us decided to plan this reunion. We got together for a few months at Happy Hours and planned this. It was a lot of fun. And it went off with a bang. There was a great turn out. Friday night was hosted

Fabulous Fridays

I'm still planning on doing Flashback Friday, but I didn't have a chance to scan any pictures yet. I will do it at some point tonight. In the mean time though, I've joined in on the fun over at Well, That's Just Fabulous, Danielle's blog. Click on the the button bellow to join in on the fun too. Danielle started this a few weeks ago, and it's the first time I participate. It sounds like a lot of fun. Everyone should join in. Danielle is also having a great giveaway. She just launched a new line of stationary, and it is adorable. I love it. I plan on placing an order real soon! This week's Fabulous Friday is....Fabulous Sunglasses!Post a picture of your glasses (or of you in your glasses). You can say who they are if you want to, but if you don't, that's fine! If you have a story to go along with why or how you got them, go ahead and share that, too. Here is my Fabulous Friday post. These are my current sunglasses (in black). I have had them for two

Why....

Priceless!!! do people have to be so mean? There is not one website right now, that doesn't have people making rude and offensive comments about American Idol. People are either bashing Adam, or Kris. I will buy both of their CD's . Adam is a natural born entertainer. He is theatrical, yes, but so is Steven Tyler, Elton John, Cher, Britney, etc....he is a performer. That is his style. I'm sure that is why he was paired up with KISS last night. It worked for him. Isn't this America? Do people not have the choice to wear black nail polish and platform shoes and sing what they love? Adam being a little eccentric and theatrical is no different than the age of the boy bands with their over the top synchronized choreography. I saw a few of them in concert, they lip synced the whole time because they had to in order to dance and PERFORM for the audience. No big deal. People still bought the albums and ticket concerts. I think that the outcome worked out for Adam because now

And so the winners were

Shawn and Kris! I have to admit, I was very disappointed that Shawn beat Gilles on DWTS . I really wanted him to win. I think that he worked real hard for it and he deserved it. That's what happens when people don't vote. Regardless, Gilles did great and in the end, so did Shawn. The Idol Show was as amazing as ever. I loved it from start to finish. I loved Kris's performance with Keith Urban and Adam with KISS was amazing. I was happy for Kris, and also for Adam because I know he will sign a record deal and do great in his genre. All the performances were awesome. Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas were my favorite. And no, not just because I absolutely loved her shoes. Well, yes, because I absolutely loved her shoes! I really, really liked them. So I did what I do, and I found them on the Internet . Here is a picture of them. And this is the closest I will ever get to them, because they are Christian Louboutin and really, who can afford them? Fergie of course. I won&#

Don't forget..

to tune in tonight to American Idol and Dancing With the Stars. Last night, I watched DWTS , and I was bummed for Melissa, I think that they gave her a hard time. I think she did awesome. I did agree with the judges about Cheryl and Gilles. The freestyle was a lot about her, and not enough about him. I still used up almost all my votes on Gilles, and I threw in two for Melissa. We'll see if it helps. I would just like her to be in the top two. It will be interesting to see all of the "Stars" come back. It seems like forever ago that Denise Richards was on there. So, Good Luck to Gilles, we'll soon know what happens. Ahhh , how cute. And then there is American Idol. I can't wait until tonight to get to see the showdown. Like I've said before, I really don't care who wins this time. I like them both. I just love the last two shows. I like to hear the song that they both have to sing, and it's usually so different from one singer to the next. I also l

Here it is folks...

Summit has released the new poster for New Moon. Ugh, it kills me to see Jacob with Bella like that. Poor Edward. Ok, I know (big L on forehead). Also, if you want to see a never before seen clip for New Moon, toon into the MTV Movie awards on May 31. Robert, Kristen and Taylor will all be there to present an award and preview the clip. Twilight is also nominated for Best Film, Best Kiss, Best Female Performance (Kristen), Breakthrough Performance Male (Robert and Taylor), Best Fight (Vampire Showdown) and Best Song for Decode by Paramore. And, if you haven't voted yet, there is still time. Voting ends on May 27th. Go here and vote away. Gotta love MTV. Still counting down for my birthday.....the best birthday gift ever. (Not including the gifts you give me Buddy).

Flashback Friday

Leading up to Fridays, I get excited about posting Flashback Friday pictures. Then of course, I get super busy at work and time just passes by. Then when I start looking through pictures, I can't decide. This week, I found this picture and decided to post about it. This picture was taken in February of 1989. I was in the court for a friends Quinceanera . Obviously since it was in February, she chose red, and I'm sorry...these horrible dresses and head pieces. Buddy and I had started out as best friends. We were confidants. He would tell me his woes and I would tell him mine. Of course, I was only 15 and he was 17. Our woes were really nothing major. Nonetheless, we could confide in each other. A lot had happened in our "teenage romances" and we realized that we liked each other. On this day, he looked passed the dress, the hair, and the headpiece and we started dating. I love that a friend of his mom's happened to snap this picture. How lucky are we to have this p

See it, live it and enjoy it.

The tag line for my blog says a lot. I see life through my set of eyes, and I live life the best way that I can, and I try to enjoy it as much as humanly possible. So, why is it that sometimes I feel like I'm in a rut? The past five days, have been pretty normal I guess. Sunday was Mother's Day, I was able to sleep in, while Buddy and the kids cooked me breakfast and served it to me in bed. It was sweet. Eggs, toast, hash browns , bacon (more on that later) and hot cakes. Wonderful cards from Kai and Nachito . A trip to the mall, but I was in a window shopping mood, rather than a purchasing mood. Then met up with Mike, Holly and Maya for a movie (Ghosts of Girlfriends past) which we were 20 minutes late to, because Kai was having her hair done at Toni & Guy, and they took foooorrrreeevvveeerrr . After the movie, we went to Yogurtini and decided to experience the Light Rail. It was interesting to say the least. We picked it up on Rural and took it all the way down to Jeff

TDA has a blog!!!

NYCDA , watch out! TDA is on it's way. Head on over here to see the new Tempe Dance Academy Blog. It has a countdown clock leading up to Nationals! So, now that TDA has a blog, how about all of you joining in the fun. I mean, have you seen how many followers I have? I think I hold the record. LOL I only have four : ( Join the blog community, I guarantee you will love it.

Happy, Happy Birthday......

to you!!!!

Treadmill, what Treadmill??

This is Kai's evening routine. This is how she watches DWTS and a few other shows. (And yes, I do the same thing, except I couldn't take a picture of myself ha ha) I just happened to have my camera next to the couch to catch these pictures, otherwise, I would have a least vacumed the carpet. I so wish I was this disiplined. She does this on a nightly basis, after she gets home from dance, before or after her homework, and before her bath. I guess her philosophy is might as well do something while I watch T.V. And my philosophy is might as well surf the internet while I watch T.V. I would be in much better shape, if I chose to use the TREADMILL that is right behind the couch while I watch T.V. But, for now, I will let Kai to all the stretching and I will keep surfing while I relax after a hard days work. : ) And my Treadmill will just have to be patient while Kai stretches and I surf.

NYCDA Phoenix

Amber, Ariana, Kai, Naomi and Tatum Dani, Kolton, Alli and Kai looking at their pictures Kai, Randee, Tatum and Jenna at dinner after convention Here are the measly four pictures that I took at NYCDA last weekend. I'm still looking for pictures that other people may have taken. Video of Kai running through Joe's Jazz combo.

What is a "Stupid Card"?

This past weekend was the end of the Regional conventions for NYCDA . Phoenix is always their last stop. Now, it's time to get ready for Nationals!! I am bummed, because I usually have tons of pictures to post, and this time, I only have a few. Maybe it's because I was completely exhausted by the time the convention rolled around. You see, I have a stack of imaginary "Stupid Cards". I use them quite frequently. That's just who I am. I am a control freak, and I think everyone knows it. When asked by Holly to help with the costumes for a dance called Locomotion, I immediately said yes, I love to do this stuff. This is where my "Stupid Cards" come in. I always have moms ask me if I need help with anything, and I, always say "NO". Why? Because I'm a control freak!!! I'm trying, I'm really trying not to be. We found the perfect jumpsuit at Forever 21 all it needed was some rhinestones and some cute accessories . Unfortunately, everyone e

Itchy, red, peeling, and painful

Ok , so, I work at a Dr.s office (for those of you that didn't know). I happen to be the office manager of this said office and with that comes some perks. Recently my employer decided that he and one of the physician assistants would start an aesthetic clinic at the office. My job was to help in the setting up of bank accounts, LLC's , credit card terminals, etc. etc. The services being offered are Botox , Juvaderm , Microdermabrasion , Latisse , and last but not least Chemical Peels. We also carry a great line of skincare by IMAGE. It is really awesome, and it's organic. I have been trying the IMAGE line for a few weeks now and I have to say that I love it, and I have cheated on Estee Lauder (face down, with a little tiny pout). Shame on me. But the prices are a lot better, (big, big, smile on my face) and the product smells delicious. Someone once told me that when you work in an office that does treatments of this sort, that you start to get addicted to them. I, of cour
