En ocho dias....

No trip to NYC city would be complete without stopping by Rockefeller Center. The home of the Today show and NBC studios. I always like to stop by and see Matt, Meredith, Al and Anne. In the summer though, you don't always see all of them. They tend to take time off during the summer. One person you are guaranteed to see every morning is Lenny. Lenny is always there. He is almost as famous as the four hosts. To learn a little about Lenny, click here . Another cool thing is that on Friday's, the Today show hosts their Summer Concert series. It gets pretty crazy down there. I've gotten to see Hillary Duff and Fall Out Boy. My suggestion is to go into Dean & Deluca to order coffee. Take your time looking around, and you will be able to get a good look at the stage and the artists. Have your camera ready, because they try to move you along pretty fast. Here is a picture of Lenny from our last trip. He's in the cowboy hat behind Matt Lauer and Al Roker . Rockefell

nine more....

This is usually my first stop when I get to NYC. I love St. Patrick's Cathedral. The feeling I get when I walk into this church is like nothing I have ever felt. It's a feeling of peace and safety. The architecure is beautiful and breathtaking. No pictures could ever do it justice. I can not ever think of going to NYC and not going to St. Patrick's Catherdral. To learn more about St. Patrick's Catherdral click here .

In 10 days....

This is my favorite building in Manhattan. I love the story of how it was built, and why the top is shaped the way it is. To read about the Chrysler Building click here . I will be walking the streets of my favorite city. I can already hear and feel the subway as I walk along the streets. It's like nothing that I can explain. This city just brings out the best in me. I love it! I love to walk into a subway and see so many ethnicity's . It truly is a melting pot of the world. In one ride, you can hear so many different languages being spoken. I love walking down the street at night and looking up into the buildings. I always wonder if people are still up their working. If that building has a residence area. When I walk down Park avenue at night I wonder if people are home hosting some fabulous cocktail party on the penthouse overlooking the city. I love to see the magazine stands on the corners and the hot dog and bagel carts every few steps. The noise is like a song to me, an

Vampire Lip Venom???

Now, you all should know by now that I am not stingy when it comes to giving product information. This product was developed by DuWop. Apparently it's similiar to their already popular Lip Venom. This one however; is Twilight inspired. You can go here and pre-order your very own. Their is a two per customer limit. Product will ship on July 1st. And word has it, that they are creating a whole Twilight inspired line. I will keep you in the know.

Bling, bling and more bling...

It's definitely not what I normally do on a Saturday, but it's something I love to do. I love to create things and see them done. Today, I worked on making rhinestone letters for some dance costumes for Nationals. I made 19 letters from Jet black Hot Fix rhinestones. It's not very hard, but it is a little time consuming because you have to lay down one stone at a time. It is also very wearing on the eyes. I was happy when I was done with all the letters. Now I have to iron them on to the shirts. While I was in the mood, and I had all my supplies out, I went ahead and started working on the iron on transfers for some New Moon shirts. Some friends have asked me for a " blinged " New Moon shirt. The front will say New Moon and the back, a tag line from the book. I already picked mine, everyone else needs to pick out theirs. My messy work area I started working on this, but I'm not very happy with it so far, I think I need to order smaller stones, or play with t

Flashback Friday

Let's Clown Around at Kassandra Paulyna's 2nd Birthday Party Sunday, September 6th 1998 For Kassie's 2nd birthday we went with a clown theme. Don't ask me why, I'm not very fond of clowns. I just thought it was cute and colorful. It was a big party again, held at the same location as her 1st party. My mom and I again, made real cute candy boxes. They were clowns made out of an empty corsage box. The box formed the body. We added craft foam for the arms and feet. For the head, we bought pantyhose and cut them, we stuffed them with pillow stuffing and sewed the sides. We made yarn pom poms for the hair, a small craft pom pom for the nose and wiggley craft eyes. We made a birthday hat out of foam. They were real cute. If you look closely at the top picture, their is one on the floor in front of Kai. We even had someone making balloon animals, wait, that was me. I learned to make balloon animals for the party. And please let's not get ahead of ourselves. I was nothi

TDA is off to NYC

in two weeks. A few months ago, Mike made a challenge down at TDA . He pit Company against Jr. Company/Company Apprentice. The challenge was to see which of the two could attend the most ballet classes for the rest of the year. The winners would receive a pool party. Well guess what? They both won. The party was hosted at Val Vista Lakes and the kids had a blast. They have been working so hard. Everyday, they have been rehearsing for hours. It was good for them to have fun and relax. Here are lots of pictures from the party. Yikes..

this is the new "New Moon" book cover. It will hit stores in September to promote the movie. And just like when they did the same for Twilight, it will have a poster inside. So although I am not so thrilled that Edward is not pictured with Bella, I do like his image on the cover. I'm thinking this is how Bella will picture him in the movie when she is hearing him talk to her. Can you feel the excitement building up? I sure can!!

A wee bit tired...

and I don't mind at all. This morning, well I guess last night and this morning I granted my nine year old son a favor. He has been wanting to see the new Transformers movie since they announced a sequel. He loves the first one and watches it over and over. I have to admit, I love it too, and I will watch it with him over and over too. I had promised to take him to the midnight show, and believe me, he didn't forget. All day yesterday that is all he talked about. Both Kai and Nachito spent the afternoon at a birthday party and played on a water slide for hours. I thought that for sure, he would be so tired and we'd have to skip the midnight show. Oh no, not my kid. By 10 o'clock last night he was anxious. He couldn't sit still and quite honestly, was driving me crazy. I finally just gave up and jumped in the car and headed down to the theater. It was pretty intense. Parking was hard to come by and the lines were pretty ridiculous. Fortunately and I had ordered our

Recital 2009

Kai and Bella Kai and Tori Another recital, and another end of a dance season for the dancers at TDA . It's hard to believe that another recital has come and gone. It was a great show. No fire alarms went off, the air conditioning worked and the kids did amazing. I again, have no pictures of Kai with any of her costumes because I left my camera on the charger. Fortunately Kai was in only 11 dances as opposed to the 14 I initially thought. Don't get me wrong, 11 is a lot, but 14 is way worse. The last time she was in 14 numbers, I was a wreck. Her numbers were so close together, that I barely got her on stage in time. And that year the air conditioning was not working, this is Phoenix remember. Her costumes were literally stuck to her and getting a new one on was close to impossible. At one point the back of one was twisted and tangled and I was almost in tears. I had two other moms helping me. They were not easy changes. This year, Kai was able to change on her own. I only w

Happy Father's Day Buddy!!

Although today is Father's Day, in my opinion, it is always Father's Day. For I have one wonderful husband, and he is a wonderful Father. From day one, he has taken his role very serious. Buddy was never one to not change a diaper, or wake up in the middle of the night with me. As a matter of fact, he ruined Kai when she was a baby. He let her sleep with us, and we didn't get her out of our bed until she was eight. And, sometimes, she manages to sneak in even to this day. Nachito isn't any better. There is nothing he won't do for these two. He has a close relationship with both of them. I think it helps that he is their "Buddy". And I'm the wicked mom. I'm the one that says no to everything. He rarely says no. And I MEAN rarely. When he tries to be tuff , they practically laugh in his face. And then he wants me to fix it. Too late "Buddy". When coming up with a gift for Buddy, I never know what he really wants. He th

Flashback Friday

Joining in with Alicia again. Head on over to her blog to participate. You can get there by clicking here . As promised, I will countdown Kai's birthdays parties every Friday from now on until we reach her 13th Birthday. Come join in Disney fun as Kassandra Paulyna turns one! Saturday, September 6, 1997 From day one, Kai was always smiling. Her cake was made by my sister Ana. Her piƱata was bigger than she was. Two pages from her scrapbook, which I haven't kept up with, hence the blog. Kai's first birthday was bitter sweet. I had been planning it for about four months. At the time I was a stay at home mommy and I had nothing better to do. It was bitter sweet, because my dad had passed away two weeks prior to her party. We really considered moving the date or cancelling the party all together, but my mom said that my dad would not want that. So we went ahead with the party. At the time, we lived in Douglas, and parties in Douglas tend to be pretty big. We rented a dan
