Patience

Patience is something that I seem to not have. A few months ago, maybe in October, Oprah had a show in which she endorsed her new gadget. I record Oprah and since I love gadgets, this one in particular really caught my attention. I love to read, I have always loved to read. I buy most of the books in Oprah's book club. When she introduced the Kindle. I wanted it, I wanted it so bad. I asked Buddy if I could have it for my birthday, and he said yes. I went on Amazon to order it, and as I was about to check out, I felt bad. I don't know, something felt wrong. I thought about all my books, especially the ones that I like to re-read just sitting there collecting dust. I thought about how I would be giving up on opening a fresh new book, smelling the new pages and being able to use bookmarks. So I canceled my order. I would have had the Kindle in my hot little hands in three days. As I have written before, I am obsessed with the Twilight series. After going back and re-reading all of them again, I really wanted to have all four of them with me so that I could cross reference. After you get used to the books, it's hard to remember what took place in which book. Then I thought, if I only had a Kindle, then I could always have all four books with me. I could still read my paper books at home, this would just be more convenient for taking in my purse. Then I remembered that the new Harry Potter movie is just around the corner. I would need to start reading those books all over again. If I had my Kindle, I could have all seven books with me. I could read in the line at Starbucks, I could read on my lunch hour. So, I went to Amazon to again order my Kindle. I got to the checkout and was shocked by what I was reading. Back ordered!!! Next shipdate - February 27 - March 10. Seriously??? It has been at least two weeks and I am dying to get my Kindle. What was I thinking? Oprah had it on her show. I should have known better. This, afterall has happened to me before. I have tried to purchase some of the things from her "Favorite Things" show and it is always back ordered. In the mean time, I check my Amazon account everyday, with hopes that maybe, just maybe it has shipped earlier. So far, no luck. I might still have to wait for another two months. I guess it is my fault for cancelling my first order. I guess I will have to carry one book at a time. When I finally do get my Kindle, I will definetly post on here and tell you just how awesome it is, untill then, I will practice having patience, and patience.

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Flashback Friday

Joining in with Alicia again. Head on over to her blog to participate. You can get there by clicking here . As promised, I will countdown Kai's birthdays parties every Friday from now on until we reach her 13th Birthday. Come join in Disney fun as Kassandra Paulyna turns one! Saturday, September 6, 1997 From day one, Kai was always smiling. Her cake was made by my sister Ana. Her piñata was bigger than she was. Two pages from her scrapbook, which I haven't kept up with, hence the blog. Kai's first birthday was bitter sweet. I had been planning it for about four months. At the time I was a stay at home mommy and I had nothing better to do. It was bitter sweet, because my dad had passed away two weeks prior to her party. We really considered moving the date or cancelling the party all together, but my mom said that my dad would not want that. So we went ahead with the party. At the time, we lived in Douglas, and parties in Douglas tend to be pretty big. We rented a dan...
