Kailee and Kai

Gino's East

Now that I know that Kai is safe and well, I can write about an amazing, amazing trip. Amazing for so many reasons. Janna and Kailee were so much fun to travel with. We had such a great time. I would do it again in a heart beat. Janna was our trusty driver. Thank goodness that she grew up in Iowa and knows how to drive in snow. Otherwise we would have been stranded all weekend. On Friday when we first got to Chicago, we went straight to Gino's East. A restaurant with the best deep dish pizza. I thought I loved Nello's, sorry Nello's. This pizza is the best. Cool atmosphere. It takes 45 minutes to even get your pizza. Friendly staff, and great appetizers too.

On our way to the hotel, we did get a little lost. But, we found our way back, thanks to my trusty phone that has a GPS and it re-routed us and we made it safe and sound. In the morning when we woke up, it had snowed about six inches, maybe more. It was breathtaking. It was like a postcard. Kai just wanted to go and jump into it. In the morning, the girls had classes and when they were done, we were off. Back to the city. This time, we walked down the magnificent mile. That would be Michigan Avenue. Great shopping. We went to the top of the Hancock Building and enjoyed the view from the Observatory. And then, a nice sit down dinner at The Grand Luxe Cafe.

On Sunday, the girls worked their little butts off in class. They really did work hard in classes, and it payed off. As we were waiting to go into the Teen/Senior room, Janna and I just said, please let them at least make it into the finals. They had, had so much fun untill this point, that's all we really wanted. Any thing else was just a bonus, a big bonus. Thankfully, they both made it in their division. Woo Hoo!!!! Thank you, Janna and Kailee for a great trip. Thank you, Janna for driving us everywhere. It was a lot of fun!!

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Flashback Friday

Joining in with Alicia again. Head on over to her blog to participate. You can get there by clicking here . As promised, I will countdown Kai's birthdays parties every Friday from now on until we reach her 13th Birthday. Come join in Disney fun as Kassandra Paulyna turns one! Saturday, September 6, 1997 From day one, Kai was always smiling. Her cake was made by my sister Ana. Her piñata was bigger than she was. Two pages from her scrapbook, which I haven't kept up with, hence the blog. Kai's first birthday was bitter sweet. I had been planning it for about four months. At the time I was a stay at home mommy and I had nothing better to do. It was bitter sweet, because my dad had passed away two weeks prior to her party. We really considered moving the date or cancelling the party all together, but my mom said that my dad would not want that. So we went ahead with the party. At the time, we lived in Douglas, and parties in Douglas tend to be pretty big. We rented a dan...
