I survived...

I had my trusty walking shoes on. I didn't quite get there at 8:30 sharp, but I got there. I was assigned my group of kids and we were off to load onto the buses. There is something familiar about the smell of buses. It immediately brought back memories. Some good, and some bad. Did I not say there was going to be yelling? Did I not say there was going to be laughing? And, and did I not say there was going to be singing? The singing I could do without. One of the other trusty chaperone's decided to conduct a music lesson aboard this bus full of rambunctious kids. What song did she pick, you might ask? Well it was the cleaner version of "99 bottles of beer on the wall". Her version was "99 bottles of milk on the wall". Right at about 97 bottles of milk is when she lost me. It's when I decided I was going to take advantage of my being chauffeured around to take in the scenery. You see, my third grader, the one who so badly wanted me to chaperone his field trip, didn't even bother to sit with me. There I was sitting solo, with some bad singing in the background enjoying the scenery. It was a nice time to think, and reflect.

Things changed speeds as soon as we arrived at our destination. Groups were divided and we were on our way. We learned a lot about plants, Saguaro cactus's, Mesquite trees all the beautiful desert landscapes. Our tour guide was nice and she gave us each a piece of twine. At each stop, we earned a different colored bead. In the end we had a bracelet. One great thing about this trip to the "Desert Botanical Gardens" is that right now, they have a guest artist displaying his glass sculptures. They are very breathtaking. His name is Chihuly. If you would like to see some of his work, look up http://www.dbg.org/ or take a visit. I believe his display is up untill the end of May.
On our ride back to the school, my little 3rd grader did sit with me. And, he thanked me profusely for having chaperoned his field trip. I did have a great time with him. I would'nt change it for the world. Ok, I might have to change the singing part. Sorry....

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Blog Remodel

I am also looking forward to my Blog Remodel. Danielle over at The Design Girl is re-doing my blog. I can't wait to see it. I looked at a lot of Blog designers, and her site was definetly my favorite. If you are interested in customizing your blog, I highly suggest her. I have been on her waiting list for a few weeks now, and I have watched as my name moves closer to the top. And just this weekend, I got to pick my new kit. And, I also changed the name of my Blog. I have been really trying to come up with something that is more "Me". And I am really happy with my choice. Hopefully it will be up and running soon. Keep checking back to see my new blog.
