Easter 2009

Easter Sunday was a blast. As tradition, we went over to Buddy's brothers house. They made an awesome lunch. Turkey, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, croissants, etc. etc. We had a great time, as always. The boys played video games, and Kai and Alyssa played with her new Barbie house. Alyssa is such a girly girl. Towards the end of the afternoon, they had their Easter egg hunt. Aunt Wendy always has so many eggs to hide. As a matter of fact, I hardly buy candy for the kids baskets, because I know that the basket from Aunt Wendy will have enough to last them until Halloween at least.

The Easter Bunny did come to the Lopez house, and brought the usual pink basket for Kai, and the usual green basket for Nachito. Kai's had a lot of hair accesories, make-up and the Core Rhythms excercise videos. Don't ask, I have no idea why she wanted that, but she has been writing down the number from the infamercial for weeks. Nachito is always happy with video games. All in all, it was a great Easter and a great start to Spring. Next on the Calendar, Nachito's First Holly Communion and Alyssa's fourth birthday.

I have a little confession to make. I have a hard time letting other people do things. For instance, I feel the need to get the dyes ready for egg coloring. I can not for any reason let the "kids" do it. Kai is old enough already, but I am a control freak and I have to do it. When everything is ready, I want to color eggs too. Is that bad? I act like a kid, and if my egg is in a color, I don't want them to touch it or add another egg, until mine is ready. This year, I tried and finally my brain told me to stay busy with another project, and just let the kids do it. So, you will be happy to know, that Buddy lent me his Kitchen Aid mixer and I baked two pineapple upside down cakes. Yes, I baked!!! It's not quite cooking, but it happened in the kitchen which is a start. And not to toot my own horn or anything, but they actually turned out real good. And, while I baked, the kids were able to color eggs with little interference from me. I think that it was a good start, and maybe next year I will let Kai run the show. Dye and everything.

My kids had fun egg hunting this year too!! I think that is like the highlight!

Wow..I like how you lined your bowls up! Better than how I did it! LOL!

Oh..and thank you for your comment on my blog about the icky lice! I checked their hair again tonight, and still nothing, so I'm sooo relieved! But, I am thinking of getting my youngest daughters haircut tomorrow. It's really long!

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

Good things come to those who wait...

I was having one of those bad Mondays. One of those Mondays when everything seems to be going wrong. 1. Our phones at the office are not working. 2. Statements went out over the weekend and angry patients are calling to complain. 3. My coffee got cold and I had to throw it away, and now I have a caffeine headache. 4. My cell phone has been tied up all day because I'm having our calls forwarded to it. (good thing for rollover minutes). 5. My boss has just added two more things to my darker pink "TODO" notebook. And just as I was about to roll up in a ball and hide under my desk, I got this e-mail. Dear Kindle Customer, Today, we introduced Kindle 2, the next generation of our wireless reading device. Because you already ordered the original Kindle and are awaiting its arrival, we're pleased to inform you that we are upgrading your order so that you will receive the new Kindle 2. You will be in the first group to receive Kindle 2, and you will receive yours as soon as K...

Flashback Friday

This Friday, I am participating in two links. My first is with Alicia over at More Than Words . There are only two weeks to go for TDA's Summer Recital. This year it will be held at Higley Performing Arts on June 20 at 7:00. Kassie will be in aproximately 14 dances so far. Might change though. Hopefully it will change to less. : ) Recital is in full swing right now. Every day, you see kids walking out with their costumes. It is so cute. I especially love seeing the little two and three year olds. They are always so excited. This is a picture of Kai in her 2nd Recital with TDA. It was her first year taking more than two classes. I think she was in five or six recital numbers. It was her first official ballet dance. She had never taken a full ballet class. She since has learned to love it. This picture was taken in 2005 making her only nine years old. How fast time goes..... June 2005
