Flashback Friday

Kassie found this picture while going through my box of old pictures a few months ago. I think it is hillarious, and I also love it. According to the date, this picture was taken about a month before my 10th birthday. I obviously was not into clothes yet. I really need to talk to my mom about the high rise waist on my pants. I'm not going to apologize about the Menudo shirt, because I worshipped the ground that they walked on, and besides it was the first concert I ever attended and I thought I was cool. Because at that time, getting tickets to a Menudo concert was like trying to get tickets for Hannah Montana.

This picture was from a "Run & Fun Day" for Girls Scouts. Yes, we were Girl Scouts and I actually went on to be a cadet, and then quit because of peer pressure. Cristina and I placed 1st place in the life safer relay. At the time, it was no surprise, because we were the biggest brats that ever lived. We ruled our own world, and liked it. In fifth grade, Footloose had come out and Cristina and I had choreographed a dance to every single song from the soundtrack. We had the nerve to ask our pricipal if we could put on a show for the whole student body of our elementary school. What do you think the principal said? You would think that he would have said, "No", "Who do you think you guys are?" But, he didn't, he said "Of course." And so, we did, we set the date and had the whole student body come to "our" performance to watch just Cristina and I dance to five or six songs from the Footloose soundtrack. We had costume changes and everything. I can't even finish typing without laughing. Regardless of how extremely selfish that performance was, we had a good time, and we still laugh about it to this day. Note: We are not that selfish anymore. I don't think.

I just had an idea. Cristina, how about at your rehersal dinner, we re-enact our 5th grade performance? Just you and me, and we can invite Annette to run the tape player. LOL I'm only kidding. Ray would go running.

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Just how long has it been? A long, long time....

Not so much of a Blogaholic. I almost feel the need to change the name of my poor little blog. It has sat here deserted with no updates and no pictures. I think about it everyday, yet I can't seem to find the time to come back to it. My intention for my blog was to document so much of our days and lives. And yet, I have let months go by without one little entry. There is no way my mind can remember everything that has happened since my last post. So much missed. The majority of Kai's 8th grade year, and the majority of Nachito's 5th grade year. Not to mention how many holidays and important events I have missed. Trips and of course Birthday parties. Somehow I need to find the time to record these events, and even if I have to back date them, I will document them at some point. This week is a tough school week for the kids. AIMS testing for both of them. Today they both felt very good about how they did. Nothing much has changed in Kai's world. She still dances, still c...
