Why....

Priceless!!!

do people have to be so mean? There is not one website right now, that doesn't have people making rude and offensive comments about American Idol. People are either bashing Adam, or Kris. I will buy both of their CD's. Adam is a natural born entertainer. He is theatrical, yes, but so is Steven Tyler, Elton John, Cher, Britney, etc....he is a performer. That is his style. I'm sure that is why he was paired up with KISS last night. It worked for him. Isn't this America? Do people not have the choice to wear black nail polish and platform shoes and sing what they love? Adam being a little eccentric and theatrical is no different than the age of the boy bands with their over the top synchronized choreography. I saw a few of them in concert, they lip synced the whole time because they had to in order to dance and PERFORM for the audience. No big deal. People still bought the albums and ticket concerts. I think that the outcome worked out for Adam because now, he can go make his style of music. He can sing what he wants to sing, and isn't stuck singing that "Mountain" song for the next six months on the Idol tour.

I guess maybe it's because I like all kinds of music. If you shuffle my Ipod, you will get all kinds of sounds. One song maybe old school country and the next 80's rock, then spanish pop to classical sound. That's just me.

Kris, is so down to earth, and the look of shock on his face when he won was just priceless. Like I said, I loved his performance with Keith Urban (you'll find him on my Ipod too.) It was so him. That is HIS style. I could easily sit at his concert and watch him go from his piano to his acoustic guitar and just stand there and sing. I would expect no different. People would faint if they saw him walk down some foggy stairs with a long trench coat. And that, is why we live in this wonderful country. Because we can all be different and we can like different things.

I hate to think of Kai or Nachito reading some of the horrible things that people are saying about Adam and Kris. Yes, this wonderful country does have a right to free speech, but children are influenced by what they see, and what they hear. I want them to know that they have a choice to like whatever they like, and when they read mean comments, that they take the higher road. And to not join in on all the bashing. To appreciate everyone for who they are, and to be happy with who THEY are. How boring would this world be if we were all the same?
OK, now I''m done with the whole Idol controversy. I've said my peace. I will now look forward to these two making great music and I can't wait to see BOTH of them on tour. Actually, I can't wait to see all of the Top 10 on tour. They all deserve it. They all followed their dreams and that only goes to prove, that if you believe in yourself, anything is possible. I bet that a year ago, those Top 10 were living normal lives like you and me, and now look at them. Dream big or go home.

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Flashback Friday

Joining in with Alicia again. Head on over to her blog to participate. You can get there by clicking here . As promised, I will countdown Kai's birthdays parties every Friday from now on until we reach her 13th Birthday. Come join in Disney fun as Kassandra Paulyna turns one! Saturday, September 6, 1997 From day one, Kai was always smiling. Her cake was made by my sister Ana. Her piñata was bigger than she was. Two pages from her scrapbook, which I haven't kept up with, hence the blog. Kai's first birthday was bitter sweet. I had been planning it for about four months. At the time I was a stay at home mommy and I had nothing better to do. It was bitter sweet, because my dad had passed away two weeks prior to her party. We really considered moving the date or cancelling the party all together, but my mom said that my dad would not want that. So we went ahead with the party. At the time, we lived in Douglas, and parties in Douglas tend to be pretty big. We rented a dan...
