En ocho dias....

No trip to NYC city would be complete without stopping by Rockefeller Center. The home of the Today show and NBC studios. I always like to stop by and see Matt, Meredith, Al and Anne. In the summer though, you don't always see all of them. They tend to take time off during the summer. One person you are guaranteed to see every morning is Lenny. Lenny is always there. He is almost as famous as the four hosts. To learn a little about Lenny, click here. Another cool thing is that on Friday's, the Today show hosts their Summer Concert series. It gets pretty crazy down there. I've gotten to see Hillary Duff and Fall Out Boy. My suggestion is to go into Dean & Deluca to order coffee. Take your time looking around, and you will be able to get a good look at the stage and the artists. Have your camera ready, because they try to move you along pretty fast.
Here is a picture of Lenny from our last trip. He's in the cowboy hat behind Matt Lauer and Al Roker.

Rockefeller Center is also just steps away from Radio City Music Hall. That's where the famous Rockette's perform. You can also go to the top of the "Rock." I've heard it has an amazing view of the city. I have only personally gone up to the top of the Empire State building. And I can't talk about Rockefeller Center without mentioning this.

The home of the famous Rockefeller Christmas Tree. I have yet to see it because we always go in the summer. One of these days though. We have talked about it a lot. We have considered skipping Thanksgiving and Christmas to be able to go to New York for the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade and stay a few days for the lighting of the tree. Hopefully sooner than later. In the summer, the bottom part that is usually the ice rink is turned into an outdoor restaurant. If you want to learn more about Rockefeller Center, click right here.

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Flashback Friday

Joining in with Alicia again. Head on over to her blog to participate. You can get there by clicking here . As promised, I will countdown Kai's birthdays parties every Friday from now on until we reach her 13th Birthday. Come join in Disney fun as Kassandra Paulyna turns one! Saturday, September 6, 1997 From day one, Kai was always smiling. Her cake was made by my sister Ana. Her piñata was bigger than she was. Two pages from her scrapbook, which I haven't kept up with, hence the blog. Kai's first birthday was bitter sweet. I had been planning it for about four months. At the time I was a stay at home mommy and I had nothing better to do. It was bitter sweet, because my dad had passed away two weeks prior to her party. We really considered moving the date or cancelling the party all together, but my mom said that my dad would not want that. So we went ahead with the party. At the time, we lived in Douglas, and parties in Douglas tend to be pretty big. We rented a dan...
