Maybe it's a story of you had to be there.....

but, I'm going to tell it anyways.

Sometimes dance competitions can be long. Some last two days, some even start out on a Friday evening and then continue on to Saturday and Sunday. A few weekends ago, KAR was four days. It started on Thursday. Fortunately I only had to be there, starting Saturday and ended on Sunday. Holly and Mike, they had to be there starting on Thursday. Holly and Mike, are two of Kassie's dance teachers. They go and support all of the dancers.

Let's just say, that by Sunday we were all pretty tired, and can you say delirious from watching so many dances. Kai had performed her solo in the morning, and had left her trophies, her ribbon and her hat from Locomotion in the front seat. Holly, Mike and I decided to go get some coffee, so we headed to Starbucks. We ended up going through the drive thru. When Mike got in my car, he just randomly had one of the trophies in his hand. The girl at Starbucks saw the trophy and asked "Cool trophy, what did you win?" Now, I could have said, "It's my daughters, she won it at a dance competition." But, I was tired and feeling kind of silly, so I said "Oh, It's his, and HE won it dancing at a dance competition." she smiled and said "Congratulations" Mike just nodded. She went to check on our drinks. He then grabbed the second trophy and put it on his lap. When she came back, I said "Look, he won two". Again, she smiled and Mike nodded. He then grabbed the ribbon and put it around his neck and held it up. When she turned around, I said, "Look, he won a ribbon too!" Again, Mike just nodded, never said a word. He just showed off his prizes. I think she was starting to think that something was wrong with him. She gave a nervous little laugh this time. At this point, I was laughing so hard and Holly was laying down on the back seat just laughing. She grabbed Kassie's hat and put it on Mike and he stretched his leg to touch the ceiling of my car. And this is what the poor Starbucks girl saw when she turned around to hand me our drinks..................................

She was speechless and I couldn't even talk. It was hilarious! So again, maybe you had to be there, but it's one night I will never forget.

Three tired and delirious people

Three caffiene addicts

Two trophies, one ribbon, a dance hat and one flexible dance teacher

Three crazy friends having a lot of fun: Priceless

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Just how long has it been? A long, long time....

Not so much of a Blogaholic. I almost feel the need to change the name of my poor little blog. It has sat here deserted with no updates and no pictures. I think about it everyday, yet I can't seem to find the time to come back to it. My intention for my blog was to document so much of our days and lives. And yet, I have let months go by without one little entry. There is no way my mind can remember everything that has happened since my last post. So much missed. The majority of Kai's 8th grade year, and the majority of Nachito's 5th grade year. Not to mention how many holidays and important events I have missed. Trips and of course Birthday parties. Somehow I need to find the time to record these events, and even if I have to back date them, I will document them at some point. This week is a tough school week for the kids. AIMS testing for both of them. Today they both felt very good about how they did. Nothing much has changed in Kai's world. She still dances, still c...
