Let's Rock n' Roll at
Kassandra Paulyna's 3rd Birthday!!

Saturday, September 11th, 1999

For Kassie's 3rd Birthday, we decided to keep it small. We hosted it at our home. I was pregnant with Nachito, and I was in no mood to make a big party. The theme was fun to work with. For invitations, I went to a local record shop and bought old 45's. I made new labels with party info on them. They were exactly like the one in the photos, except on real records. I made record sleeves for them and handed them out. They were very cute.
We made record shaped candy bags out of black and red felt. We had a hula hoop contest, and a bubble gum blowing contest too. My mom made Kassie her poodle skirt, and I added the K to her shirt. I was able to find her black and white oxfords at Payless. My sister made milk shake center pieces out of old fashioned coca cola glasses, tinted Styrofoam, carnations and a straw. Buddy cut out the juke box shape out of styrafoam, and I painted it. I made juke box shaped magnets as party favors. I used a candy mold in the shape of a juke box with plaster of paris. I then painted them and sprayed them with clear gloss spray and added a magnet to the back. I had actually made Disney and clown ones too for her first two parties.
We had a bouncer and the kids went crazy. Most of the guests took the theme very serious and dressed up as well. I really loved this theme soon you'll know just how much I loved it.
Next weeks theme: Britney Spears
(I know, I know, at the time Britney was still age appropriate and Kassie just loved her.)

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Joining in with Alicia again. Head on over to her blog to participate. You can get there by clicking here . As promised, I will countdown Kai's birthdays parties every Friday from now on until we reach her 13th Birthday. Come join in Disney fun as Kassandra Paulyna turns one! Saturday, September 6, 1997 From day one, Kai was always smiling. Her cake was made by my sister Ana. Her piñata was bigger than she was. Two pages from her scrapbook, which I haven't kept up with, hence the blog. Kai's first birthday was bitter sweet. I had been planning it for about four months. At the time I was a stay at home mommy and I had nothing better to do. It was bitter sweet, because my dad had passed away two weeks prior to her party. We really considered moving the date or cancelling the party all together, but my mom said that my dad would not want that. So we went ahead with the party. At the time, we lived in Douglas, and parties in Douglas tend to be pretty big. We rented a dan...
