Six, seis, zes, siks, sex, seks

I bet you didn't know that sex means six in Icelandic and Swedish. I didn't either. And thanks to Wikipedia, now we both know. : )
Times Square

Kai and Madison March 2007

Kai, Mary and Maya July 2007

Where do I begin??? Let's see.....Broadway shows, M&M store, Huge T.V. screens, MTV studios, ABC studios, Roxy's Diner (best cheesecake ever), Huge, Huge Sephora, and I mean Huge, Toy's R Us with a Ferris wheel inside. They used to have a huge Virgin store, but now I hear that it is going to be a huge Forever 21. That's just a few of the exciting things in Times Square.

There are so many people at Times Square at all hours of the day. It's always really busy and the streets are crowded. It's like a crazy block party every single day. Every direction you look, you see something that you missed a few seconds before. We have seen couples getting engaged, The Naked Cowboy, and a lady that dresses like the Statue of Liberty. And, forget about going to Canal Street for those handbag knock offs, because at night the handbag vendors are on every corner. And as fast as they show you a bag, they can pack up and run. It's pretty funny. They also have amazing spray paint artists. They sit on the floor and in minutes can spray paint a beautiful painting of the New York City skyline. It is pretty amazing. The smell can be a little overwhelming, but it's fun to watch.

I also love that you can see all the billboards for the Broadway shows. This year, we will be seeing Mary Poppins and if we have a chance, either Legally Blonde or The Little Mermaid. A lot of people from TDA are going to go see Wicked. Last time, those tickets were impossible to get. It was sold out every single night we were there. I, back in October bought tickets to see Wicked on tour at Gammage. It will be on June 26th. I don't know what I was thinking, I already knew we were going to NY. I guess I just wasn't thinking. I'm sure the show will be just as amazing. We are watching the closing nights show, and I've heard that's a great day to watch shows, we will see.

Times Square is also where the famous ball drops on New Years Eve, but who didn't know that right? My niece actually got engaged there this past New Years Eve. It seems to be a popular place for engagements. To learn more about Times Square, click here.

This year we will be staying a few blocks from Times Square. NYCDA's convention is being held at The Sheraton New York this year. Last time we went, it was held at The Waldorf Astoria. Unfortunately they had to change locations. If you ever go to New York, I do recommend staying at the Waldorf, it is very beautiful. The lobby is pretty amazing. The hotel staff was very nice, and we had a great time. I guess some of the dancers got a little too loud and disturbed some of the guests, and the Waldorf would not renew NYCDA's contract. : ( I'm sure the Sheraton will be fun too.

Of course I can Elda. It would be so much fun! We can always plan a girls trip too. I'm sure Marina would be more than willing to come.

Your countdown posts are so interesting!!!! I can imagine what you're going to write about when you come back!!!!

My mom saw a play when she was there, but I forget which one! It was always her dream to go there too!!!

OH...and about the picture of me and my husband..LOL, there was some reality type show that was on and we were trying to figure out if it was fake or not. We finally realized it was the Latin version of Punk'd! Hahaha!

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Just how long has it been? A long, long time....

Not so much of a Blogaholic. I almost feel the need to change the name of my poor little blog. It has sat here deserted with no updates and no pictures. I think about it everyday, yet I can't seem to find the time to come back to it. My intention for my blog was to document so much of our days and lives. And yet, I have let months go by without one little entry. There is no way my mind can remember everything that has happened since my last post. So much missed. The majority of Kai's 8th grade year, and the majority of Nachito's 5th grade year. Not to mention how many holidays and important events I have missed. Trips and of course Birthday parties. Somehow I need to find the time to record these events, and even if I have to back date them, I will document them at some point. This week is a tough school week for the kids. AIMS testing for both of them. Today they both felt very good about how they did. Nothing much has changed in Kai's world. She still dances, still c...
