And here we go....

another school year. The morning ran pretty smoothly. Especially considering the fact that I had not taken the last week to get the kids to bed early. I meant to, but I just didn't. Nachito had the hardest time going to sleep last night, maybe 4th grade jitters, or maybe he was just to used to going to bed late. Nonetheless, he woke up fairly easy and was excited for the new year. Buddy and I drove him to school, and I walked him into his class. He was a little more quiet than usual, but I'm sure that by the time I got back to the car, he was his good old self. We are hoping for a quieter year from him. He does tend to be the talker in class. We shall see.

This week, my goal is to look into some sports for him to play. His asthma has been under good control (knock on wood). He has been hospital free for almost two years (knock on wood again). And that is a good thing. For a while there, he was in and out of the hospital. Thanks to his pulmonologist and his allergist, he's been great. He's really looking forward to playing sports again, what can I say, I'm a nervous mom.

On his way to class

After dropping Nachito off, we headed back home to pick up Kai. She starts school a whole hour after Nachito. I hate it, I just hate it. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Ok, enough of that. Kai was ready to go, she had her bag packed and was ready for her first day of 7th grade. She made me take pictures at home, because there was no way that she was letting me walk her into school and take pictures. She left her dance bag ready to go, as she starts dance again today. Her dance schedule is as full as always. She is excited for a new dance year. Christmas Show, new solo, competitions, etc. etc. She is also planning on going out for cheer at school this year, so that should be exciting.

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Flashback Friday

Joining in with Alicia again. Head on over to her blog to participate. You can get there by clicking here . As promised, I will countdown Kai's birthdays parties every Friday from now on until we reach her 13th Birthday. Come join in Disney fun as Kassandra Paulyna turns one! Saturday, September 6, 1997 From day one, Kai was always smiling. Her cake was made by my sister Ana. Her piñata was bigger than she was. Two pages from her scrapbook, which I haven't kept up with, hence the blog. Kai's first birthday was bitter sweet. I had been planning it for about four months. At the time I was a stay at home mommy and I had nothing better to do. It was bitter sweet, because my dad had passed away two weeks prior to her party. We really considered moving the date or cancelling the party all together, but my mom said that my dad would not want that. So we went ahead with the party. At the time, we lived in Douglas, and parties in Douglas tend to be pretty big. We rented a dan...
