Another weekend has come and gone...

This past weekend was spent at Dance Masters of America. Another competition that TDA participates in. It was held at Greenway High School. On Saturday the kids took class for the morning, then they participated in the Performing Arts Competition.

Kassie competed in two group numbers, and then her trio. Her solo was not ready, nor was her costume. All of the TDA kids did great. Holly decided to not take a lot of numbers, because we have NYCDA Regionals around the corner and her new numbers were not ready to compete.

On Sunday, there were some more classes, and then it was the title competition. Mckenzie from TDA was crowned Pettite Miss Dance of Arizona , Zach also from TDA was awarded Mr. Pettite Dance. For Junior Miss Dance the title went to Ally, Miss Dance of Arizona was won by Casey, both from TDA. It was a big Sunday for TDA. Four title holders won. And the competition was not easy. Congratulations to all of them!!

On Saturday in between the classes and the competition, we took the kids out to lunch. We had lunch at Cucina Tagliani. I had never been there before, but I really liked it. The kids had fun, and then they were off for competition.

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Flashback Friday

Joining in with Alicia again. Head on over to her blog to participate. You can get there by clicking here . As promised, I will countdown Kai's birthdays parties every Friday from now on until we reach her 13th Birthday. Come join in Disney fun as Kassandra Paulyna turns one! Saturday, September 6, 1997 From day one, Kai was always smiling. Her cake was made by my sister Ana. Her piñata was bigger than she was. Two pages from her scrapbook, which I haven't kept up with, hence the blog. Kai's first birthday was bitter sweet. I had been planning it for about four months. At the time I was a stay at home mommy and I had nothing better to do. It was bitter sweet, because my dad had passed away two weeks prior to her party. We really considered moving the date or cancelling the party all together, but my mom said that my dad would not want that. So we went ahead with the party. At the time, we lived in Douglas, and parties in Douglas tend to be pretty big. We rented a dan...
