Costumes

Sandy finished Kai's new costume! It's exactly what I wanted. She did an amazing job. The skirt is perfect, and the colors look great. I was worried about the colors a little, but now that it's finished I really do like it. The bottom ruffle has a hot pink lining, the middle ruffle has yellow, and the top one has a turquoise blue. When she leaps and turns, you can really see the colors. I ordered the rhinestones, and they have come in. I have started to rhinestone, but this one is going to take me a few days. I decided to just order 30 gross first, and if it needs more, than I can order some more. I went with 20 gross of 20 ss Jet, 3 gross of 20 ss Citrine, 3 gross of 20 ss Meridian blue and 4 gross of 20 ss Fuchsia. I will be busy rhinestoning this weekend, and hopefully I will get done and post some pictures on Monday.

I am also working on a new costume for a group number called Cover Girl. It's a Junior group number for NYCDA in Phoenix and then for Nationals. I'm desperately looking for any accessories in lime green. There are 20 girls in the number, and I would like them to all have different lime green accessories. Hats, bracelets, headbands, anything really cute. If any of my local blog readers see something, please let me know. This number is going to be super cute, so the costumes need to be too!!!
The design of this dress is inspired by the late Alexander McQueen. I was looking at some of his designs the week that he died and I found one that with a few changes and some color is going to be perfect for this costume.
They are dancing with shopping bags, hand mirrors, and sunglasses. I ordered some very cute shopping bags that are polka dot with lime green, orange and a magenta pink. All those colors will be incorporated into the costume. The actual dress will be the fushia/magenta color and it has an orange underskirt made out of tulle. It should turn out very, very cute. I will post pictures once it's all done.

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

Good things come to those who wait...

I was having one of those bad Mondays. One of those Mondays when everything seems to be going wrong. 1. Our phones at the office are not working. 2. Statements went out over the weekend and angry patients are calling to complain. 3. My coffee got cold and I had to throw it away, and now I have a caffeine headache. 4. My cell phone has been tied up all day because I'm having our calls forwarded to it. (good thing for rollover minutes). 5. My boss has just added two more things to my darker pink "TODO" notebook. And just as I was about to roll up in a ball and hide under my desk, I got this e-mail. Dear Kindle Customer, Today, we introduced Kindle 2, the next generation of our wireless reading device. Because you already ordered the original Kindle and are awaiting its arrival, we're pleased to inform you that we are upgrading your order so that you will receive the new Kindle 2. You will be in the first group to receive Kindle 2, and you will receive yours as soon as K...

Flashback Friday

This Friday, I am participating in two links. My first is with Alicia over at More Than Words . There are only two weeks to go for TDA's Summer Recital. This year it will be held at Higley Performing Arts on June 20 at 7:00. Kassie will be in aproximately 14 dances so far. Might change though. Hopefully it will change to less. : ) Recital is in full swing right now. Every day, you see kids walking out with their costumes. It is so cute. I especially love seeing the little two and three year olds. They are always so excited. This is a picture of Kai in her 2nd Recital with TDA. It was her first year taking more than two classes. I think she was in five or six recital numbers. It was her first official ballet dance. She had never taken a full ballet class. She since has learned to love it. This picture was taken in 2005 making her only nine years old. How fast time goes..... June 2005
