The BIG 40

Buddy will be celebrating the BIG 40 this year! At first I was not going to plan a BIG celebration because it would be a month before Kai's BIG day. Well, now that things have changed, I decided that he deserves a BIG celebration for the BIG day. It was initially going to be a BIG surprise party, but I have a teenage daughter that couldn't keep her BIG mouth shut. She overheard me and a friend discussing some details, and she told Buddy. A few months ago, I was reading one of my favorite entertainment blogs. Hostess with the Mostess and she had the best vow renewal theme. It was the theme from the movie The Hangover. I immediately decided on that theme. That is our ultimate favorite movie. We can watch it every single day. Buddy and I don't ever like the same movies, and I mean ever. For some reason, this movie we both like. I made Save The Date cards that I will be sending out through e-mail and FB messages. His party is in August, but I am hoping that a lot of our friends from Douglas can make the trip. I am sending them out on the release date of The Hangover 2. The party will only focus on the first movie. It will have a Vegas feel. I'm so excited to plan this party. It should be a BIG blast, and a BIG night for Buddy. There will be nothing appropriate about this party. Just like the movie. Here is a sneak peak. I will also be sending out actual invites as the day gets closer. In the mean time, I will just be busy planning this hillarious party.

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Flashback Friday

Joining in with Alicia again. Head on over to her blog to participate. You can get there by clicking here . As promised, I will countdown Kai's birthdays parties every Friday from now on until we reach her 13th Birthday. Come join in Disney fun as Kassandra Paulyna turns one! Saturday, September 6, 1997 From day one, Kai was always smiling. Her cake was made by my sister Ana. Her piñata was bigger than she was. Two pages from her scrapbook, which I haven't kept up with, hence the blog. Kai's first birthday was bitter sweet. I had been planning it for about four months. At the time I was a stay at home mommy and I had nothing better to do. It was bitter sweet, because my dad had passed away two weeks prior to her party. We really considered moving the date or cancelling the party all together, but my mom said that my dad would not want that. So we went ahead with the party. At the time, we lived in Douglas, and parties in Douglas tend to be pretty big. We rented a dan...
