Stranded in NYC

After classes on Saturday, the girls were done early and we decided to hop a bus to NYC. It is only an hour and 45 minutes away. Here they are getting on the bus to see NYC for the first time. They both informed us that this is where they will be living when they get out of High School. They both hope to go to Julliard, but they have also thought of NYU. Never did we realize what an adventure this trip would be. As we boarded the bus, it seemed simple enough. That was not the case hours later when we missed every single bus and train out of NYC. We sat at Roxy's diner in Times Square wondering what in the heck we were going to do, and how were we going to get back to Philadelphia. We called our husbands who were googling everything they could think of all while giving us a hard time for not paying attention to the time. Can you blame us, it is NYC there is so much to see and do. Besides if it's the city that never sleeps, how would we have ever guessed that the last of trains and buses stopped at 11:00 at night. That is just wrong. On another note, that diner in Times Square, Roxy's. They have the best cheesecake I have ever had in my life. It was certainly a comfort food on this night. We thought we were going to have to sleep in Central Park. Finally we walked for about a half hour like some homeless people, the girls thought it was soo funny, me and Dana, not so much. Dana spotted one of those black lincoln town cars that drive people around in the city, you know, like in The Devil Wears Prada and asked him if he could take us to Philadelphia, he said yes for $300 ouch. What other choice did we have? We finally arrived in Philly at 3:00 a.m. The girls slept the whole way. They never knew that the driver got lost about five times. Still, this was one of the best trips I have been on. Thank you, Dana and Madison.

vous êtes conviés

Here are pictures of the invitations for Kassie's 13th Birthday party. I had so much fun making them. Hum...maybe because I used my three favorite colors, maybe because I like to make invitations, or maybe it's just because I LOVE to plan parties. Either way, here is a sneak peak. Sorry the pictures are so bad, my camera is dead and I used my phone.

My life through my iPhone 2

Part II of "My life through my iPhone.                    Saturday was the Marcos De Niza Homecoming!  Kassie and Aaron had a blast!  I was able to finish Kassie's ballroom shoes on Sunday. It was spirit week for Corona del Sol and on Monday it was TV character day.  She dressed as Blaire Waldorf from Gossip Girl.  Corona had a bon fire on Thursday, and the Pommies performed a hip hop routine.  Here is a picture I stole from Instagram. On Saturday evening, the kids decided to carve pumpkins.  Here is Nachito and Chanel getting ready to carve. Kassie and her friend Amanda did some carving too!  These may not be great posts, but it's a start.

Flashback Friday

Joining in with Alicia again. Head on over to her blog to participate. You can get there by clicking here . As promised, I will countdown Kai's birthdays parties every Friday from now on until we reach her 13th Birthday. Come join in Disney fun as Kassandra Paulyna turns one! Saturday, September 6, 1997 From day one, Kai was always smiling. Her cake was made by my sister Ana. Her piñata was bigger than she was. Two pages from her scrapbook, which I haven't kept up with, hence the blog. Kai's first birthday was bitter sweet. I had been planning it for about four months. At the time I was a stay at home mommy and I had nothing better to do. It was bitter sweet, because my dad had passed away two weeks prior to her party. We really considered moving the date or cancelling the party all together, but my mom said that my dad would not want that. So we went ahead with the party. At the time, we lived in Douglas, and parties in Douglas tend to be pretty big. We rented a dan...
